Nintendo Wii Set To Get A Price Cut Nintendo is set to cut the price of its gaming Console – Wii which will see the motion control based gaming console retail for 199$. Nintendo had to cut the price of their gaming console after Sony launched the PS3 Slim last month for only 299$ and Microsoft reducing the price of Xbox 360 to 299$ as well. The introduction of PS3 Slim definitely helped Sony as they saw a 104% increase in the sales of their console. Of the 3 gaming consoles currently available in the market, Nintendo Wii has the weakest hardware and at its current price of 249$, it definitely does not look attractive. eInk Blink Name Badge Neolux have created a new name badge for conferences that uses eInk technology that makes it possible to change the badge, or make the text blink on it. It’s the same technology that is found in eBook readers and only requires power when the image is changed on the device. The idea isn’t hugely beneficial from what I can see, but as it uses eInk crammed on to a small surface that also includes the chip to control it and a power source then it makes it quite a cool device. I’m not 100% sure if it’s practical and if the price is cheap enough to make it worth it. The cool thing about it is that it actually does work and they have managed to cram everything needed in to the small device. Intel Four-Screen Notebook Concept Intel have introduced a unique working concept notebook that has four screens built in. Don’t think that it’s 4×15″ displays all put side by side though. In this case you have 1 large screen as a normal laptop/notebook has and then below just above the keyboard you have 3 more smaller screens embedded in to the device. Each of those 3 screens near the keyboard respond to touch and can display information in widgets. Also content from the 3 screens can be dragged up to the main screen if needed. USB 3.0 WebCam with 1080p60 Streaming Revealed USB 3.0 was announced a while back and what we have here is a new webcam designed to be USB 3.0 compliant. It is built by Point Grey and the specs are quite impressive as it can actually capture full HD at 1080p at an impressive 60 frames per second. Due to the wider bandwidth available on USB 3.0, it allows raw data to be pushed through allowing it to function at the higher resolution and frame rate. Inside the camera there is a 3 megapixel Sony CMOS sensor that is capable of capturing the 1920×1080 pixels needed to make up the resolution. It’s a great step forwards and no doubt we will be shortly leaving the grainy webcam days behind moving in to full high definition images at 60 frames per second.
