Freescale Collaboration with Epson to Integrate E-Ink Controller to Next Generation ARM SoC
e-book is becoming popular with more and more manufacturers moving into this new business. However, the retail price could be still too high to be affordable for average users. Good news now, Freescale has been collaborating with Epson so that the new E-Ink technology can be integrated directly into the SoC (Silicon-on-Chip) to bring down [...]

Barnes & Noble Unveils Nook E-Reader
It wasn't exactly the best-kept secret in the industry. After months of rumors and a few proverbial cats let out of the bag the morning of by The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, Barnes & Noble yesterday made official its stab at the e-book market--The Nook.
The book giant's Kindle killer is Android-based, as speculated, and features two screens (also rumored prior to release)--one a standard electronic ink display for reader and one color touch screen. The reader also features 3G connectivity via AT&T (good luck using it in New York) and Wi-Fi, which can be accessed in Barnes & Noble retail locations.
The reader will begin shipping the end of next month for $259. The first 10,000 customers who pre-order will receive a free copy of Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point.

TC Helicon VoiceLive
Has anyone used this vocal effect equipment?
I am considering purchasing the VoiceLive, it can be found for around $350 USD on eBay and other sites.
Can anyone compare this to the newer VoiceLive 2? What are the main differences (I assume the 2 comes with more bells and whistles). There is a price difference of about $400-500 (the VL 2 goes for around $750 USD).

Apple Magic Mouse Launched
Along with a big update to a number of Apple products yesterday, Apple [AAPL] have also launched the new Magic Mouse. The mouse is the worlds first multi touch mouse allowing you to use anywhere on it’s surface to click on.
To use the mouse you need to brush a finger along the surface of it to scroll in any direction along with the ability to pan a full 360 degrees. Various other gestures can be used with the mouse including the use of two fingers, swipe left or right that allows you to skim through pages.
The multi-touch abilities stem from what started on the iPhone where a new way to interact with a screen was first used. Following the iPhone the iPod Touch also got this and then the technology moved in to touchpads on devices sich as the MacBook pro.
The Apple Magic Mouse costs $69 and is available over on the Apple site.

Barnes & Noble unveils its Kindle killer, the Nook
This afternoon Barnes & Noble unveiled its answer to Amazon's Kindle, the $259 Nook, which goes on sale at the end of November, but is now up for preorder at nook.com. One-upping its competition, Nook adds a small full-color touch/horizontal scrollable navigation LCD that displays book cover art underneath the now de rigeuer 16-gray scale E Ink e-paper screen.
The touchscreen also displays standard content lists and a pop-up touch keypad. The screen goes dark so you're not distracted while reading.
To combat Kindle, Barnes & Noble couldn't intro a "me-too" e-reader. "Following the leader is simply not in our DNA," said William Lynch, president of B&N's online division. Inside Nook is 2GB of memory, which will hold 1,700 e-books, supplemented by a microSD slot. Nook also has an MP3 player and picture viewer (or as much as a 16-gray scale screen can render a picture) and can display side-loaded Adobe PDFs.
The Nook-to-Nook feature lets you lend e-books to other Nook owners or to any

Barnes & Noble Nook Made Official
Earlier we wrote about the Barnes & Noble Nook eBook reader that suddenly was being made available today. Scanning over their website we see that the information has now been made official and that a colour eBook reader is now available for pre-order. Although the eBook reader does have some element of colour, it is important to know that the reading pane is just regular e-ink, but the device does have a seperate LCD colour navigation area below the screen that acts like a touch-pad.
The Nook measures 7.7″ x 4.9″ x 0.5″ and weighs 11.2 ounces. The main screen/reading pane uses advanced E Ink Vizplex that allows you to read eBooks like a printed page. This allows you to read in sunlight as well as clearly while used in your home. The text size can also be adjusted to suit your needs.
Below the e ink screen is the colour touchscreen that measures 3.5 inches and allows you to scroll through the covers of your eBook and select the one you want to read.

Mini Pumpkin Cheesecake Pan and a Giveaway!
Miniature cheesecakes are a great way introduce both portion control and cuteness into dessert. You can always bake them in a muffin pan, but this Mini Pumpkin Cheesecake Pan gives you a few advantages that regular muffin pan doesn’t. You don’t need any paper liners for these pans because the bottoms are removable. All you need to do is loosen the sides of the cheesecake and push up on the bottom of each cavity, and the mini cheesecake will slide right out. The sides of the pan are nonstick, too, which really makes this easy to use.. Also, the cavities are pumpkin-shaped, making them perfect for fall and winter cheesecakes, even if they’re not pumpkin flavored.
As it so happens, I have one of these lovely Chicago Metallic Mini Pumpkin Cheesecake Pans to give away this week, and since my cookbook will be shipping in just a few days, I’m going to include a FREE copy of the cookbook along with the pan, making this a giveaway extra special. Now, there are no mini p

Announcing Zoho Projects for Google Apps
Some
time ago, a Zoho Projects customer from Australia -who happens to use
Google Apps as his e-mail solution- wanted us to provide an integration
between Zoho Projects and Google Apps so that he could use both
seamlessly. His main concern was that his employees use Google Apps
everyday for email and intranet information, so he wanted to have the
Zoho Projects information easily accessible there. After
checking with other customers, that seemed like a good scenario for us
to implement, but at the same time we were busy giving our users a
better way to organize their projects and making project management
more social with Zoho Projects 2.0. But even the core Zoho Projects
team was busy, our IAM (Identity Access Management) team who is
responsible for Single Sign On within Zoho & other federated logins
took this up - and provided our support for signing-in with a Google
Apps account. This really made creating Zoho Projects for Google Apps a lot easier. That is one reason why ha
